My friend Lexi and I have been hosting lunch club once a month for 3 years now. We were already collaborating on our ‘Better Together Supper Club’, but we wanted to create a space for deeper connection, to share HeartMath practices alongside Lexi’s love filled food, and bring people together to simply Feel better together. We choose a heart felt theme each month and share our own reflections, and we invite others to do the same.
We are always so grateful that people choose to join us. We are passionate about what we do, but the magic is the feeling of togetherness, and of genuine authentic connection. We invite people to come as they are, and we very much do the same.
Bringing people together is my passion, my joy. The magic of it was instilled in me from a young age; from years of gathering around the table with my family and friends growing up.
Another person’s energy has the power to lift us beyond anything. Being in the energy of a warm welcome is a medicine all of its own, so we extend a warm welcome and let the experience unfold.
We share heart math practices because they help us, and we hope that they might help others too.
Its a Feeling
We invite everyone to quieten the thinking brain, and bring their attention to their hearts. We then invite them to lean into regenerative heart felt feelings, and to allow these feelings to grow and expand from their hearts. This opens the door for authentic heart felt connection. We connect as equals. We recognise ourselves in each other living a human experience, our minds start to clear and our hearts start to settle.
When we experience regenerative heart felt feelings such as love or gratitude or awe, our nervous system shifts into a state of coherence; our hearts, brain and emotions work in sync, in harmony.
We know the feeling. It feels good. We feel relaxed, at ease and we can connect effortlessly with others. We engage with the world and have clarity of mind. We move through life with ease and flow.
But crucially, when we intentionally cultivate coherence, we bring others around into coherence too thanks to our hearts powerful magnetic field.
That is why practicing HeartMath together is a truly magical thing indeed.
So often in life, when we feel depleting or difficult emotions, we have a tendency to withdraw, to attempt to push the feelings away. We are not encouraging people to ignore feelings. We are encouraging people to pause, check in and notice how they are feeling with compassion. The invitation is to lean outwards not inwards. To choose kindness, care and connection, and to reach for whatever feeling usually helps us to feel better; that might be gratitude, love, the awe of nature, or something else entirely. These feelings are very real and powerful, and they are accessible to us all.
None of it is easy and creating space to practice can be challenging. However, the more we reach for these regenerative feelings, the easier it becomes, and the greater the impact on us and everyone else around us. That is something we truly believe is worth practicing, and that is why we will keep doing what we do, because we truly believe we really can feel better together.
